Lee Begay, Bracelet, Basket, Turquoise, Crown, Deer Dancer, Navajo Made, 6 1/4"

Navajo tufa cast artist Lee Begay made this magnificent bracelet that brings together Pueblo and Apache cultures. The incredible work of art is created by carving a tufa stone and then pouring silver into the design and is one of the earliest Navajo jewelry making techniques. Lee uses a centered basket design and then carves an Apache Crown Dancer on one end of the cuff. On the other end you will find a Pueblo Deer Dancer. Every year the Apache and Rio Grande Pueblos perform at the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial here in Gallup and they are always a crowd favorite. This bracelet is another great example of how the different Native American cultures of the Southwest influence the art of the Navajo.
