Gene Autry Parade Saddle, Attributed to Edward Bohlin

That is why the call it a Trading Post. Perry acquired this saddle in a trade for two pieces of antique pottery. We know the saddle was given to Mort Kallis as a gift from Autry and later ended up in a collection owned by Ed Andysiak. We have extensive correspondence between people who know the saddle and family members of Mort Kallis. The saddle has been in our showroom for about 3 years and in that time it has had a write-up in the local newspaper and seen many admirers who stop by the Post to see it and take a picture with it. We don’t know how many of these saddles are out there, but can’t imagine to many. Autry had a connection with Gallup due to movies and invited Toby Turpen to the grand opening of his museum in California. You might think about getting this for the next Rose Bowl Parade.
