Fairs are big news in Indian Country. People start camping out a few days before the Navajo Nation Fair begins in Window Rock. It doesn’t matter in Gallup if it is the Homecoming Parade or the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial event, the streets will be lined with spectators. One of the main attractions is all of the young crowned Princesses that are dressed in their traditional attire. You will see some very impressive dresses, crowns and entourages following the young ladies along the parade route. Navajo silversmith Wilbert Benally made this spectacular split silver cuff that is decorated with a gorgeous piece of green gaspeite. This magnificent handmade art is just like the fabulous pieces you will see on parade day. Wilbert finishes the mirror shined silver with a big concho stamp design on each end of the cuff.
