Private Collection, Circa 1940s Lone Mountain Turquoise Concho Belt
DetailsThis belt comes out of a private collection and dates back to the 1940s. It is Zuni handmade and does have some marking on the backside of the buckle, not sure if this is the artist’s mark. The belt was owned by Madeline Cameron who’s parents owned the Navajo Mountain Trading Post. She was from Oklahoma and the belt was acquired by an old time Trader in Oklahoma, who brought it back to this part of the Country. You can tell the belt has not been worn in years with the tarnished displayed of silver, something that will polish up with just wearing the fabulous piece again. It is a very impressive cluster piece, but the best attribute of the piece is the Lone Mountain Turquoise. This belt is filled with 354 pieces of the collectible Nevada stone, that is a lot. We were told the leather had been replaced a couple of times, we put it on some black leather that brings out the richness of the stones. It is an amazing piece, something that should be worn and shared with the world.
