Legendary Navajo silversmith Orville Tsinnie has seen tons of carats of turquoise over his lifetime. This artist gets so many orders that he doesn’t buy one stone at a time, but trays full of stones. He works through the tray, probably grabbing the eye-catching big rocks for his heavy silver creations first, then medium size down to smaller stones. At the end of working up the tray he gets to this little pile of stones, not big enough for any of his signature looks, and lets remember we have never seen a pair of earrings by this big silver master metalsmith. So, there he is looking at these small stones and voila the beginnings of this beautiful four stone ring start to become a reality.
