A couple times a year I get out the rock hammers and head about 10 minutes out of town. This area is a nice sandstone that has tons of fossils, even found a shark tooth on one dig. New Mexico use to be covered by ocean and like this sandstone area the rocks reveal this history. Navajo artist Natasha Peshlakai could have been inspired by this New Mexico history when she made this cuff. She has filled this cuff with the creatures of the sea that swim across the textured water. When you get above the water line you will find a steamboat chugging away. This is a very interesting cuff that will capture you imagination. Something very different, and hopefully we will see more of these wide storytellers from Natasha.
