Navajo tufa cast artist Lee Begay made this magnificent Apache Crown Dancer cuff. The incredible work of art is created by carving a tufa stone and then pouring silver into the design, and is one of the earliest Navajo jewelry making techniques. Lee has given the dancer wonderful detail with the large three piece crown and traditional style dress. You will also notice the piece of Turquoise Mountain set above the crown. Every year the Apache Dancers perform at the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial here in Gallup and they are always a crowd favorite. This bracelet is another great example of how the different Native American cultures of the Southwest influence the art of the Navajo.
