Harrison Jim, Coral, Turquoise Inlay Tufa Cast Sterling Ring, Navajo
You can’t go into a Trading Post in town without seeing a large
selection of Navajo inlay work. Many of those pieces will blow you away with the creativity and quality of work. However, it was not that long ago that this
was a new look for Navajo artists, it was mainly done by Zuni artists. Wilbert Manning and Harrison Jim won many awards doing Navajo inlay, Harrison the silver and Wilbert the inlay. These two talented
Navajo artists have made many inlay pieces that ended up in galleries around the world. Today, Harrison does all the work and the inlay is just as magnificent as when Wilbert did it. This large ring is done in a tufa cast technique that reveals amazing silver design. A large oval channel sits on the band and Harrison sets big carved pieces of deep red coral and blue turquoise, a perfect look.
