Zuni artist Beverly Etsate creates very unusual pieces with her unique inlay style. This belt has a number of pieces that include a Navajo Medicine Man, Apache Crown Dancer, Hopi Maiden, Kokopelli, Koshari, Mudhead, Animal Kachinas, and the Zuni Shalako. With all of the pieces that represent important ceremonial figures from different cultures it shows the relationship Zuni has with its Native American neighbors. Each piece is inlaid on a black jet background and the figures are assembled with a variety of different stones. The silver work is very clean and subdued so it does not take away from the main inlay design of the belt. A museum piece and another great example of the amazing stone work that comes out of this New Mexico Pueblo.
