I believe the reason that Navajo wearable art has had such a rich history is because of the silversmith. Of course some major non-authentic influences have helped it along the way, but even if the art never became commercial it would still be the choice of the local people. Handmade and traded is the life here. This gorgeous circa 1940s bracelet is a Navajo made piece. Right in the center is a stunning piece of Nevada's famous Blue Gem Turquoise. The stone has a crack through it, but it doesn't have any movement and seems to be secure. You will be drawn to the natural patina of the aged piece. Simple silver work decorates the hammered ingot cuff.
