When an artist creates a piece of jewelry that started as an ingot we pay a premium for that piece. The reality is only a handful of Navajo silversmiths are making pieces of silver like their forefathers. It is hard work and takes much longer to start with melting silver into an ingot, then repeating hammering and heating the silver until it gets worked into the desired shape. That is exactly how this circa 1950s Navajo bracelet was made. The bracelet is finished with simple silver work that includes stamping, wires and silver drops. You will also find an American classic adorning this hammered silver cuff. This piece of Number Eight Turquoise has slightly changed colors over the years turning from a blue to bluish green. However, you can still see the famous Number Eight web filling the stone.
