Alice Quam–Turquoise Cluster Pin–Circa 1970s-Collectors

Zuni artist Alice Quam made this collectors cluster pin. She became the favorite among cluster enthusiasts because of her commitment to perfection. Alice made sure she picked the right stones, pieces that would maintain consistent color throughout the piece, plus the hand shaped rocks matched in shape. This is a classic Zuni cluster piece that dates back around 40 years. Alice uses two sizes of stones, center small circles and an outer pear shaped cut. All of the stones have changed color overtime due to wear and age, but gives the piece a great vintage look. Her work is not the easiest to find, and nothing better than a style that was worn here in the Four Corners area.
