Description:Zuni has produced many famous jewelry artists that have been collected by enthusiast all over the world. One of the most important of these is teacher and artist Horace Iule who played a pivotal role in the development of Zuni jewelry. His daughter is Lupeta Leekity, who along with her husband George Leekity was taught sandcasting and carries on the style and traditions of Horace. Perry has been trying to get a belt like this for a very long time, and finally over a course of several months working with Lupeta he has one. The belt is made using sandcasting techniques and displays a Zuni Knifewing decorated with hand cut Sleeping Beauty Turquoise with a round stamped border. Each concho is a perfect match and to finish the belt with a bang the buckle has been fashioned in a very loud design that is heavy silver with lots of stone and a Knifewing. We are trying to get a coral one, but you never know, so if this is a must have for your Zuni art collection don’t hesitate.
